Working Together

Welcome! I look forward to working with you. Here’s a quick overview of my workflows and the areas where I can support you.

Workflows

  • Communication - The best ways to reach me are:

    • E-mail me at grant@frameworklaw.com — I usually reply within one to two business days. If you haven’t heard back or if something is time-sensitive, please feel free to follow up.

    • Schedule a call on my Calendar. To stay organized and on schedule, I avoid unscheduled calls, texts, and social media messages.

  • Project Rates - If you are a Member, most projects are included as part of your Membership. Otherwise I will always confirm a quote in advance before we get started. For reference, my à la carte rate sheet is here.

  • Turnaround - I aim to complete most projects within a few business days when possible, but please allow up to 1–2 weeks for most matters, and longer for non-urgent or multi-part packages. Whenever you can, please provide as much lead time as possible.

  • Invoicing - Memberships are billed monthly to your card on file through Stripe. A la carte projects are invoiced separately and can be paid via Stripe, credit card, Zelle, or check.

  • Client Portal (8am) - I primarily use this portal for sending e-signatures and saving certain documents and invoices. It may prompt you to create an account, but that’s optional—almost all of our work together will be coordinated over email. Please don’t send messages through the portal—I may miss them.

  • AI - I use trusted, private AI legal tools to improve the efficiency and quality of my work—for example, in contract review, drafting, and research. All work is personally reviewed and verified by me, and I never share confidential or identifying client information with non-private AI systems.

Areas where I can support you

My practice focuses on the core legal needs of growing creative and entrepreneurial businesses, including:

  • Intellectual Property:
Trademark searches and applications, copyrights, trade secrets, and brand protection

  • Contracts:
Founder agreements, service/MSA agreements, website terms and privacy policies, contractor/employee/affiliate agreements, licensing deals, NDAs, basic company acquisitions, and most other business contracts

  • Business Structure:
LLC and corporation formation, governance, and ongoing corporate maintenance

Peripheral areas where I can offer guidance

These topics come up often, and I can provide high-level input and research specific questions to give you an informed opinion. I don’t claim deep specialization in these areas, but I can help you understand the issues and your options:

  • Hiring and managing employees. I’m happy to help with the basics—including hiring, firing, and general compliance—but I’m not an HR expert and don’t hold myself out as an employment law attorney.

  • Regulatory compliance, including product labeling, HIPAA, data privacy, non-profit compliance, real state nuances, and professional licensure requirements.

  • Out-of-court dispute resolution, including support with amicable resolutions when possible. I don’t lead adversarial matters and typically don’t send demand letters (such as for debt collection).

  • Investments and early-stage/seed fundraising. I can advise on the basis, and can assist with SAFEs and simple equity sales, but I don’t handle SEC filings or lead Series funding rounds.

  • Business licenses, permits, and DBAs — Because requirements vary widely by location, I don’t directly handle business licensing, permitting, zoning, or DBAs, but I can point you in the right direction or connect you with outside support.

Areas that are outside my scope

When your needs fall outside my practice areas, I’m always happy to help you find the right attorney or professional. I do not handle:

  • Patents

  • Immigration

  • Litigation or adversarial disputes

  • Taxes or accounting

  • Estate planning

  • Nonprofit compliance

  • Entertainment law

  • Venture capital / series fundraising
